Alexander (International Center for Terrorism Studies, Potomac Institute) and Hoenig (a nuclear physicist and Washington DC-based consultant) provide an assessment of the Iranian leadership's intentions and capabilities with regards to terrorism and nuclear weapons. The describe Iran's government structure and offer leadership profiles. They then examine Iran's connections with Hizballah, Hamas, and other organizations and analyze Iran's nuclear ambitions and capabilities, as well as their ballistic missile, chemical, and biological capabilities. While more balanced than many recent works on the same topic and clear in the sourcing of claims (allowing the informed reader to assess the credibility of, e.g., US government accusations or the claims of the Mujahideen-e-Khalq, an Iranian-dissident group classified by the State Department as terrorist, without having to go to the footnotes), the work is still occasionally marred by such inaccuracies as the claim that President Ahmadinejad has argued that Israel "must be wiped off the map of the world," a mistranslation of Ahmadinejad's call for a change of political regime in Israel/Palestine.
