Description
Editors Ainspan, an industrial psychologist, and Penk, psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Texas A&M College of Medicine, offer a reference handbook for American military members returning home with physical and/or psychological disabilities. The authors explain that returning service members will need to adapt to their disabilities and learn how to re-integrate into civilian life. The book is designed to help them understand how they are impacted by their disabilities and where to find information and resources that will help them, including local VA center contact information, counseling services for them and their families, and other available programs. It also includes brief biographies of disabled veterans and case studies. Written by the editors and 15 co-contributors, the book includes a chronology.
