Description

A stunning and suspenseful new landscape emerges in the thrilling Dark-Hunter world--a world where nothing will ever be the same again. . .

Fang Kattalakis isn't just a wolf. He is the brother of two of the most powerful members of the Omegrion: the ruling council that enforces the laws of the Were-Hunters. And when war erupts among the lycanthropes, sides must be chosen. Enemies are forced into shaky alliances. And when the woman Fang loves is accused of betraying her people, her only hope is that Fang believes in her. Yet in order to save her, Fang must break the law of his people and the faith of his brothers. That breech could very well spell the end of both their races and change their world forever.

The war is on and time is running out...

Booklist Review

Kenyon reaches back into the past to tell a crucial tale of star-crossed lovers in the second hardcover release in her long-running, best-selling Dark-Hunters series (Acheron, 2008). The last thing Fang, a Were-Hunter wolf, wants to do is help train young whelps to blend in with humanity. But it's the job of the pack, and the best place to do it is the local tavern and safe house, Sanctuary, domain of the were-bear clan, the Peltiers. Their only daughter, Aimee, never liked the viciousness of wolves, but her attitude changes once Fang and his pack help protect her family against dangerous rivals. Acts of revenge draw her into battle to literally save Fang's soul, as they also fight an attraction neither family will accept. Kenyon fulfills her fans' desire for this backstory, introduces new players and developments, and briskly recaps the past dozen novels in her popular series. These competing objectives may leave some readers feeling bogged down, but Kenyon's hallmark ability to balance put-them-through-the-wringer love stories with heaping helpings of wisecracks and southern sarcasm shines as bright as ever. And readers will enjoy seeing Fang and Aimee earn their happy ending.--Davis, Nina C. Copyright 2009 Booklist

With two brothers on the council of the Were-Hunters, Fang is in big trouble when the lycanthropes start fighting among themselves and the woman he loves is accused of betrayal. The "Dark-Hunter" novels are heading in a new direction, but with Kenyon racking up three No. 1 best sellers in eight months-and the next Twilight movie, New Moon, focusing on werewolves-you can bet that this one will be big. Think multiple copies as you prepare for the one-day laydown on August 4; national tour. Copyright 2009 Reed Business Information.
