Booklist Review
Book 14 in the Pretty Little Liars series opens with confirmation of what our favorite little liars Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily were slowly piecing together: Alison DiLaurentis is A. The actual Alison, not her (late) twin, Courtney, or even Alison pretending to be Courtney pretending to be Alison. If that last sentence creates whiplash, the rest of the novel might, too, and the reveal of Helper A also pulls threads from much earlier in the series. In retribution for the Liars going to the police with A's notes and threats, the girls face very grave consequences for the death of Tabitha (remember her?) in Jamaica. Ali sends the police a doctored video of the girls beating Tabitha, which lands them in legal and personal trouble. However, before they are shipped off to face charges in Jamaica, the girls find themselves in one more deadly confrontation with A and her helper. Devoted fans of the series will rejoice knowing there's more to come in the next installment.--Jones, Courtney Copyright 2014 Booklist

In their sixteenth book, the PLLs confess that Ali is still stalking them, and they're given round-the-clock security. But as usual, A is one step ahead--and the girls are arrested for murder. The plot arc will be familiar to long-time fans (any new readers will be baffled), but Shepard delivers another suspenseful ending--and reveals another big secret. (c) Copyright 2014.
