Booklist Review

Ages 3-7. When that beloved, balletic mouse Angelina becomes a big sister, she vows to be a good one. But with baby Polly always in the family spotlight, upstaging her sibling even with Grandma and Grandpa, Angelina acts out her anger by throwing toys around her room and breaks her heart by inadvertently breaking the statuette she won at Miss Lilley's ballet school. Her family's love and concern soon bring her around, and she promises Polly "when you get bigger I'm going to teach you to dance, too!" While the solution may seem too easy to those who've experienced the problem, that will not deter Angelina's many fans from lining up for another chance to follow her adventures. Graceful in line, delicate in color, and full of beguiling details of English mouse-life, the artwork expressively portrays the mixed emotions children feel when a new baby arrives. A pleasant addition to a popular series. ~--Carolyn Phelan

Horn Book Review

Angelina gets a new sister; she stages a tantrum over the perceived neglect, and receives reassurance from her parents and grandparents; and in the end she decides to like her sister after all. The illustrations are charming and delicate. From HORN BOOK 1991, (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
