Prolific craft-book author Beal returns to jewelrymaking in this follow-up to 2008's Bead Simple. The projects range from casual upcycled pieces, including a necklace made from paint chips, to sophisticated statement pieces incorporating semiprecious stones. Beal divides the projects by category (e.g., earrings, necklaces, bracelets) for quick reference, and each project is rated easy, intermediate, or advanced. The instructions are straightforward, with plenty of tips throughout, and basic tutorials for essential skills such as wirework, stringing, and knotting are included. VERDICT The quantity and variety of projects will appeal to crafters looking for small, attractive pieces that can easily be finished in an afternoon. © Copyright 2016.
