Although nearly 50 years have passed since John F. Kennedy was assassinated, questions about who really killed him are debated still. Noted peace activist Douglass doesn't really answer those questions but does present a compelling argument for why the "unspeakable" (read "evil")-a complex alliance of right-wing forces including agencies of the U.S. government-wanted Kennedy eliminated. The book is mostly about Kennedy's commitment to finding an accommodation with the Communist world that would ensure lasting peace and forces opposed to that goal. Conspiracy-theory buffs love this book, but even with Pete Larkin's energetic narration, its 22 hours make for a tediously long ride.-R. Kent Rasmussen, Thousand Oaks, CA (c) Copyright 2011.
