Description
In recent years, the field of environmental and resource economics has broadened its focus by making connections with many other subdisciplines in economics as well as the natural and physical sciences. Tietenberg (economics, Colby College) and Folmer (environmental economics, Tilburg University, The Netherlands) survey contemporary research on environmental and resource economics by some of the leading experts in the field. Contributors collected here are mainly academics in agricultural and resource economics, but there is also material by policy makers, environmental advocates, and a representative of the oil industry. They discuss aspects of land use decisions and policy, indicators of sustainability, value transfer and environmental policy, and environmentally harmful subsidies.
