New Love takes the cake in the third novel in #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts's Bride Quartet—in a stunning French flap edition Wedding baker Laurel McBane is surrounded by romance working at Vows wedding planning company with her best friends Parker, Emma, and Mac. But she's too low-key to appreciate all the luxuries that their clients seem to long for. What she does appreciate is a strong, intelligent man, a man just like Parker's older brother Delaney, on whom she's had a mega-crush since childhood. But some infatuations last longer than others, and Laurel is convinced that the Ivy League lawyer is still out of her reach. Plus, Del is too protective of Laurel to ever cross the line with her-or so she thinks. When Laurel's quicksilver moods get the better of her-leading to an angry, hot, all-together mind-blowing kiss with Del—she'll have to quiet the doubts in her mind to turn a moment of passion into forever...Don't miss the other books in the Bride QuartetVision in WhiteBed of RosesHappy Ever After

Similar Authors From NoveList

NoveList provides detailed suggestions for other authors you might want to read if you enjoyed this book. Suggestions are based on recommendations from librarians and other contributors.
Suzanne Brockmann's military romances are good suggestions for readers of Nora Roberts's romantic suspense. Fans will appreciate Brockmann's bad boy heroes, the insider military details, the richly developed romance, and the fast-paced action-filled story. -- Katherine Johnson
Nora Roberts's romantic suspense novels are a good match for Eileen Goudge's similar romantic suspense novels: both feature compelling pace and edgy, dramatic plots. -- Rebecca Vnuk
Nora Roberts and Anne Stuart write darkly suspenseful, often erotically passionate tales of adventure that make good use of natural surroundings, providing layers of depth and emotional intensity. They specialize in redeeming a rogue through his interactions with a resourceful and courageous but out-of-her-depth heroine faced with endangerment and death. -- NoveList Contributor
Folks who like Nora Roberts's good old-fashioned romantic suspense sprinkled with a dash of flash should also try Elizabeth Adler. Both authors create intricately plotted stories, with intriguing back stories for the numerous characters. -- Krista Biggs
Both Jude Deveraux and Nora Roberts write contemporary romances sprinkled with paranormal elements and served with a side of humor. -- Shauna Griffin
Though Jasmine Guillory's writing is a touch steamier than Nora Roberts's, both are known for their compelling and heartwarming contemporary romances that explore the inner lives and desires of a variety of complex women. -- Stephen Ashley
Nora Roberts and Virginia Kantra both write in a range of Romance genres: contemporary, romantic suspense, and even paranormal. They often set their stories in small towns, featuring entire families of close-knit siblings who band together against the outside world, and in general their characters, plotlines, tone, and pacing appeal to similar reading tastes and genre preferences. -- Katherine Johnson
Nora Roberts and Fern Michaels address many of the same issues in their novels. Themes of abandonment, betrayal, grief, and the healing power of love prevail in their stories, and many offer female protagonists a second chance in life and career as well. -- Krista Biggs
Readers who enjoy a variety of subgenres of romance should explore the heartwarming, character-driven works of both Nora Roberts and Therese Beharrie. Beharrie tends to use supernatural elements a bit more often than Roberts. -- Stephen Ashley

Booklist Review

Wedding-planner Laurel believes in romance in theory; it's just the reality of the matter with which she has a problem. Since the only man for Laurel is Delaney Brown and Del is the brother of Laurel's best friend and business partner, Parker, Laurel has decided to take herself off the dating circuit. The upside is that this leaves her with more time than ever to concentrate on creating the kind of fantastic wedding cakes that has made Vows Connecticut's premier wedding planner. But when Laurel's temper pushes her into kissing Del, she realizes she just might have to rethink that whole dating-moratorium idea. In the third installment of her Brides Quartet, Roberts continues to perfect her irresistible recipe for romance by neatly mixing together engaging characters, potent passion, and lively humor.--Charles, John Copyright 2010 Booklist

Publisher's Weekly Review

Happily-ever-afters continue to bloom in book three of Roberts's sugary Bride Quartet (after Bed of Roses) as the spotlight shines on pastry chef extraordinaire Laurel McBane. Vows, the Greenwich, Conn., wedding business run by the four BFFs, is also a hotbed for romance, as two of the friends have already found true love and dream of their upcoming nuptials. Laurel, meanwhile, sets her sights on Del, the older brother of Vows partner Parker, a handsome lawyer she's secretly loved since they were teens. Passion erupts, but will they be able to make it last? Laurel's tart fairy tale romance offers few surprises, but it's impossible to deny Roberts's flair for sketching likable couples. Library Journal Review

For as long as she can remember, Laurel -McBane has adored Delaney Brown, her best friend Parker's older brother. But to Del, she's always been just one of his kid sister's friends, or so she thinks. Her fiery temper results in a kiss that just might change their relationship for good. There's plenty of practical wedding planning and culinary detail to enjoy in this third in Roberts's series on the four owners of the wedding service Vows (Laurel is the pastry chef). The interactions among the characters are priceless. VERDICT Funny, sweetly sexy, as bubbly as champagne, and as addictive as chocolate, this thoroughly readable follow-up to -Vision in White and Bed of Roses is one to savor. Roberts lives in Keedysville, MD. Note: "Quartet" is scheduled to conclude with Happily Ever After later this year. (c) Copyright 2010.
