Description
About 20 per cent of US students are English language learners, have disabilities, or both. Many have attributes perceived to be impediments to accurate standardized testing, and must be accommodated according to current policy and practice. The contributors review research findings about the effects of accommodation on test scores, review the procedures for making inclusion and accommodation decision for large-scale assessment programs such as those mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, and determine the implications of these findings for present and future policies.
