Recent efforts to meet increasing demand for transport have been complicated by lack of funds and increased attention to sustainable mobility and the environment. This collection of ten articles gives methods of evaluation that consider elements that have only fairly recently been added to transport analysis. With attention to the needs of all stakeholders, contributors address social cost-benefit analysis, the boundaries of welfare economic transport appraisal (in the UK), the institutional theory approach, socio-economic impacts of transport policies, multi-criteria analysis as a tool to include stakeholders in project evaluation (a case study), ad hoc project procedures for the development of transportation infrastructures, guidelines of ex ante evaluations, project appraisal and decision making, stakeholder analysis in infrastructure development and a conjoint analysis of expert opinions on hybrid forms.
