Description

#1 New York Times bestselling author of American Assassin—soon to be a major motion picture Vince Flynn’s intensely suspenseful #1 New York Times bestseller puts the young, hungry, and lethal superagent of American Assassin in the crosshairs even as he kills with impunity. In the year since the CIA trained and then unleashed him, Mitch Rapp has dismantled, kill by untraceable kill, the network of monsters behind the Pan Am Lockerbie terrorist attack. The hunt leads to Paris, where a deadly trap is sprung as the bullet leaves Rapp’s silenced pistol—followed by the discovery of nine bodies, including Libya’s oil minister, in one of the city’s finest hotels. Washington wants no part of the international crisis, and Rapp is deemed a liability by Stan Hurley, one of his handlers. But as he slips outside their control to operate on his own, it will soon become clear that nothing is more dangerous than a wounded and cornered Mitch Rapp.

CIA assassin Mitch Rapp is sent to Paris to eliminate a Libyan terrorist. Only his supervisors should know of this operation, but Rapp's cover is blown, and he barely escapes. Certain that there is a mole, he sets off to unearth the traitor while trying to stay alive. This is Flynn at his best, and Mitch Rapp fans hoping for a solid follow-up to 2010's American Assassin won't be disappointed. George Guidall is one of the finest narrators around, and he brings his expertise to this tautly written and highly suspenseful thriller. VERDICT Flynn, Rapp, and Guidall are a winning trifecta; for every collection. [The Atria/Emily Bestler hc was a New York Times best seller.-Ed.]-Joseph L. Middle Eastern terrorists who think they're angels plan to blow the entire world sky-high, and their plan hinges on kidnapping an American scientist who possesses a pair of ancient stones that reputedly allow one to talk with God. Only the scientist's wife can save him; she has psychic power over the stones. If you loved the author's The Secret Supper, you'll probably love this, too.
