Jaymie Leighton, food columnist and vintage cookware collector, is back in the fifth series outing (after No Mallets Intended). As Christmas approaches, she's preparing for the opening of the Queensville Historic Manor and Dickens Days in the small village of Queensville, MI. Jaymie is looking forward to giving baking demonstrations in the vintage kitchen at the manor and spending time with handsome junk store owner Jakob. Her plans are interrupted, though, after she discovers Shelby Fretter badly beaten in a storeroom. When Shelby dies of her injuries and the son of Jaymie's editor is the main suspect, Jaymie is soon roped into investigating. VERDICT A captivating cozy, which includes Jaymie's "Vintage Eats" food column featuring a recipe for no-bake fruitcake. © Copyright 2015.
