Horn Book Review
Franklin the turtle worries about what to give his mother for her birthday so that she will know how much he loves her. He does everything his friends suggest but also comes up with his own idea and says I love you to his very appreciative mother. The story is dominated by the heavy-handed message, and the familiar art has a bland, greeting-card sweetness. From HORN BOOK Fall 2002, (c) Copyright 2010.
