Horn Book Review
Text by Zoe Burke. Colorful, highly stylized rainforest animals called out from a composite painting by artist Charley Harper (reproduced on a foldout with a numbered key at book's end) illustrate this small book. Quatrains--often forced--identify the creatures whimsically. As art, the pictures are arresting, but they're too abstract and poorly scaled (a hummingbird appears larger than a kite) for the book to be informative. (c) Copyright 2014.
