General Note
SAMPLE TEXT: Bison live in North America. They have been here for more than 250,000 years. Long ago, they roamed the whole continent from Canada to Mexico. Bison can live almost anywhere as long as there is food and water. It doesn't matter to them if the weather is cold or hot. Bison gather in small herds of females and their young for part of the year. When it is mating season, they form larger herds. As bison herds move, they chew and grind grasses, weeds, and other plants. They swallow this food. Then they bring it up and chew and grind it again. This helps them get the most nutrition from the plants.
Description
The American bison (buffalo) is one of the most recognizable North American mammals. In fact, it is the official national animal of the United States where you'll still find them roaming.
