Description
Celebration of Arlington County's oldest registered voters, in conjuction with the 75th anniversary of the incorporation of Arlington County in its present form and the ratification of the 19th amendment. Mr. Eisenberg gives an introductory speach, talking of the importance of voting and registering people to vote. Mr. Nichols discusses a campaign being undertaken by his cab company to encourage voter registration. Recognition and appreciation of members of the County's electoral board. Remarks about the functioning and structure of the County government. Presentation of Honor Roll awards to the oldest registered voters in the county. Follows interviews with honored voters and a panel discussion hosted by Ms. Cocklin about how voting rights have changed and expanded since the county's formation, as well as a video interview with a the previous County General Registrar, Ms. Mary Thompson Lee.
