Northern Virginia Sun: Then and Now Series.

PG 87 has one subgroup divided into three series. Series one consists of photographs that do not have the accompanying newspaper article. Series two is the newspaper article without the accompanying photographs. Series three is the newspaper article with the photographs. Series three has seven subseries divided by geographic neighborhood. The files are then arranged alphabetically. Often the newspaper article will showcase two or more photographs and the file only has a print for one of those photographs. The finding aid indicates the dates of the phtotographs and then notes which are prints and which are only seen in the article.

There are no research restrictions.

The Then and Now series is published by the newspaper the Northern Virginia Sun. The Sun publishes an historic photograph of a scene in Northern Virginia and couples it with a current photograph of the same scene. A small article providing the history of the area accompanies the photograph.
