RG 101 is divided into six series by type of material or broad subject: constitution and bylaws, minutes, newsletters, alphebetical series, neighborhood conservation plan, and photographs. Arrangement within series is generally chronological except for the alphabetical series.

Newsletters, minutes, and correspondence, and photographs reflect neighborhood concerns over the years. Topics include: neighborhood municipal services, school quality, traffic patterns, zoning, landscaping, house remodeling, the Arlington Forest shopping center, and Lubber Run Park. Picnics, parties, and other celebrations formed important links among the residents. Of speical interest are the association's fiftieth and sixtieth anniversary celebrations, which many photographs document. Additionally, one series concerns the neighborhood conservation plan for Arlington County.

The Arlington Forest Citizens Association is open to adults with a residence or place of business in, or an identity of interest with the Arlington Forest community, a residential neighborhood, divided into sections by Arlington Boulevard (Route 50). Founded in 1940, the association has published a newsletter, the Arlington Forester, for a longer period than any other Arlington civic association.
