Biographical or Historical Data
The Maywood community is bounded by Lorcom Lane, Lee Highway, Oakland St., and Interstate 66. The initial platting for the neighborhood began in 1909 and consisted of single family homes. The Maywood Community Association organized to " . . . protect and advocate actions and measures to forward the best interests of this area as a residential community." The material within the collection reflects this mission.
