Library Journal Review

In a welcome throwback to a presplatterfest, pretorture porn era for horror films, Ti West's unpretentious shocker relies on gradually building suspense until all bloody hell breaks loose. A college coed (Jocelin Donahue) tapped as an 11th-hour babysitter by a calmly menacing Tom Noonan finds out the hard way that some fast-buck jobs are too good to be true. Set in the 1980s and smartly shot as if it were original to that era, House comes off like a mix of Rosemary's Baby and Halloween. For (relatively) old-school horror buffs. (c) Copyright 2010.
