Description
RG 176 are the incomplete records of both North Arlington FISH and South Arlington FISH (For Immediate Sympathic Help). Records include FISH manuals, meeting minutes and newsletters that focus on just one branch or are county-wide. The bulk of material dates 1986-1999.
Biographical or Historical Data
FISH (For Immediate Sympathetic Help) was founded in Oxford, England, in 1961. It's purpose is to provide short-term emergency assistance to "neighbors in need." North Arlington FISH was founded in 1966 as a cooperative program of the North Arlington Parish Council. South Arlington established their own branch in 1969. The groups share a newsletter and an answering service.
