Description
History by the Block is an educational design seeking to strengthen the teaching of history in the Arlington Public Schools by focusing attention on the role of architecture and the design process in American social history. This unit, "If these walls could talk," reveals life in a plantation house located across the Potomac River from the nation's capitol and owned by members of the Washington and Lee families. It includes four lesson plans and was produced for grades 7-8.
