In a post-apocalyptic future ravaged by overpopulation, a lone survivor mercilessly protects his remote sliver of property from intruders. When a mother and daughter in search of food and shelter show up at his doorstep, he's suspicious, but allows them in. Soon an uneasy alliance, borne of necessity, forms between the trio. But distrust and paranoia threaten to give way to violence at any moment.

An injured forest ranger on a routine mission is saved by two off-the-grid survivalists. What is initially a welcome rescue grows more suspicious as the son and his renegade father reveal a cultish devotion to the forest. When their cabin is attacked by a strange being it's clear there is a far greater threat in this unrelenting wilderness.
