Yasmin and her friend Emma are going to the ice rink, but Yasmin is nervous and does not want to admit that she has never skated, so she delays going on the ice as long as possible--but when she falls down Emma's mother offers to teach her, and Emma helps.

It is library day and helper Yasmin is busy shelving books, but suddenly she discovers that her own special book is missing, prompting her to calmly retrace her steps.

In Cuba, it is believed that a mysterious water serpent--the Madre de aguas--is responsible for providing and protecting the fresh water of the island. But the serpent is missing, and a drought has gripped the island. Uchenna, Elliot, and Professor Fauna fly to Cuba and endeavor to rescue the Madre de aguas. Unfortunately, it tries to kill them. Meanwhile, the Schmoke Brothers' goons are driving around Havana, dumping pink sludge into the sewers....
