Harvey's (Slightly South of Simple, 2017) growing fan base will find another great beach read in this second novel in her Peachtree Bluff trilogy. Sloane relishes time in the small town of Peachtree Bluff with her sisters, mother, and grandmother, but when she receives the unthinkable news that her military husband is missing in action, she retreats to bed with her letters from Adam. Everyone quickly steps up to support Sloane, leaving her mother, Ansley, to wonder why her parenting style differs so greatly from her own mother's. She couldn't possibly leave Sloane to deal on her own, so why wasn't Ansley's mother there for her when she needed her? Ansley trades narration with Sloane, letting readers in on a secret with an old boyfriend she hasn't shared with her daughters. Not without drama themselves, Sloane's sisters have their own problems, from Caroline's fragile relationship with her ex-husband to Emerson's health issues. Peachtree Bluff is the quintessentialbeach town, full of quirky residents and old bungalows, and readers will practically feel the hot sun and the sand between their toes. Harvey is an up-and-coming southern writer with staying power.--Babiasz, Tracy Copyright 2018 Booklist
