Booklist Review

With two dollars to spend, Pinkalicious searches for treasure at the neighborhood yard sale preferably a pink treasure. And find pink things she does, along the way learning new vocabulary words. Some of the three- and four-syllable words are real ones, such as interesting, sunglasses, and opera. Others are made up: pinkatastic, pinkerrific, and pinkaperfect. The illustrations feature several full-color double-page spreads. An emergent reader will find plenty of support as he or she practices growing reading skills. The book is part of the I Can Read series and is listed as level 1, with simple sentences for eager new readers. The sentences are simple, but the vocabulary will provide a challenge to youngsters. The book's great appeal will be for those who love all things pink.--Edmundson, Martha Copyright 2014 Booklist

Horn Book Review

In three fluffy books for beginning readers, Pinkalicious investigates the cause of a cupcake machine's malfunction, finds a "pinkaperfect" treasure at a yard sale, and presides over a coronation tea party for Goldie the unicorn. The readable texts offer mild, easily resolved tension; the pinkatastic illustrations are as cloying as usual. (c) Copyright 2014. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
