Booklist Review
Holiday season for Fancy Nancy means a decorated house, delectable goodies, and the opportunity to finally use the angel tree topper she bought last summer with her own money. The tree topper is everything the box promised: it spins, it flashes, it changes colors. But a fight with the dog results in a knocked-over tree and a broken topper. Grandpa to the rescue, and Nancy loves her homemade tree topper as much as the fancy one, which stretches credulity a bit. However, Christmas is the perfect time for all sorts of fancy doings, which the always-fun artwork makes abundantly and amusingly clear.--Cooper, Ilene Copyright 2009 Booklist
Publisher's Weekly Review
The world has never seemed fancier to Nancy than at Christmas: there's abundant snow, the house is decked out in lights and, on Christmas Eve, Nancy has a special angel tree topper to hang. The trouble is, Christmas Eve comes with a lot of waiting (Nancy keeps busy decorating cookies, wrapping presents and caroling while awaiting family members' arrival). Nancy's ebullience results in a tearful mishap, but the glamorous heroine's vivacious personality, captured once again in Glasser's cheerfully detailed illustrations and a sprinkling of fancy vocabulary, proves evergreen.
