Description

Now an animated series from Paramount + & Nickelodeon!

For fans of the hilarious Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, here comes the seventh novel in the New York Times bestselling series Big Nate.

BIG NATE IS LIVING IT UP!

Principal Nichols wants Nate to be buddies with new kid Breckenridge Puffington III and show him around. But that’s no easy task when Breckenridge is a plant-doodling total fun-sponge. There’s also something strangely familiar about this guy. . . . What in the world could it be?

Meet BIG NATE, Mr. Big-time Doodler and definitely NOT the teacher’s pet.

"Big Nate is funny, big time!"—Jeff Kinney, author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Middle-school guys are the stars of these fast-paced, hilarious, and amply illustrated realistic series. While the Big Nate books aren't quite as sarcastic as the Wimpy Kid series, they're still a lot of fun (and capture some prime embarrassing moments). -- Ellen Foreman
Nate (Big Nate) is more self-confident than Danny (Loser List) but readers will relate to both boys as they navigate middle school life. Big Nate is told through comic strip panels while Loser List is more an illustrated journal. -- Kathy Stewart
While the Misfits series is a bit more earnest and serious (and is not illustrated), both of these funny and realistic series feature memorable characters and spot-on descriptions of life in middle school. -- Ellen Foreman
Fans of the comic-panel drawings depicting Nate's wacky life in middle school will enjoy Origami Yoda, more an illustrated journal than comic book, but an equally funny picture of the ups and downs of life as seen by Tommy and his friends. -- Kathy Stewart

Horn Book Review

Per Principal Nichols's instructions, Nate becomes "buddies" with the geeky new kid, Breckenridge Puffington III, but he can't shake the feeling that he's met Breckenridge before. This seventh series installment, with its signature cartoons and frequent comic panels, contains many intersecting plot lines, but in the end there's a clear, satisfying resolution. Plus, the endpapers offer a maze to complete. (c) Copyright 2015. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
